Tapping as a somatic practice for trauma survivors

I was just on a call with a colleague who is a primary care physician who was frustrated because she felt like she had limited options for referrals for her patients who have experienced trauma. She often recommends talk therapy, which helps a lot of her patients, but she wanted something different that was still evidence based to offer.

This is actually a really common thing for healthcare professionals who are primarily trained in western medicine techniques, because we don’t receive very much education or skills around more alternative wellness methods. In fact, we are often encouraged to dismiss those methods as invalid or non-scientific. And as a result, we have a more limited range of options to recommend for our patients who have needs that western healthcare doesn’t always meet, and that can lead to frustration and a sense of powerlessness.

Watch as I discuss tapping as a somatic practice- it uses the body as part of the technique, which allows patients to get an even deeper access to trauma in order to heal it.
