Tapping, Therapy, and Coaching: Which is best for you?
I absolutely love collaborating with coaches around tapping, because coaching and tapping complement each other so perfectly. I recently did a tapping workshop for a coach colleague’s group coaching cohort, and several of the participants asked about the difference between tapping, coaching and therapy, and how they should know what is right for them. While coaches themselves are very clear about what coaching is (and what it is not), it’s actually really common for clients to get these 3 modalities confused… especially because there’s a lot of overlap. This confusion can often lead to overwhelm, or they may decide not to seek help at all.
While coaching is more forward-facing, focuses on the client’s strengths, and empowers clients to find the answers within themselves, therapy can have more of a focus on a person’s past experiences, traumas and behaviors, in order to help them better understand the present.
EFT/Tapping is more like a hybrid between coaching and therapy, and it complements both modalities really well. I use tapping to help my clients connect with their own wisdom and intuition, and I also use tapping as a modality to explore and heal past traumas.
Watch as I demonstrate some of the specific ways that tapping can be used to empower clients to connect with their own wisdom. If you want to know more about what tapping is, here’s a free resource for you.
