Conscious Allyship Coaching: Action-Oriented Accountability

“None of this is easy, and we have to do it anyway.”

-Michelle C. Johnson, Author of ‘Skill In Action’

Wow. Your advice just put me in a place of total ah-ha and took me out of my defensive mode which I did not even realize I was submerged within. The depth of realizing what happened is a lesson I will not forget.
— A.L, Atlanta, GA

Are you a white person committed to fighting for racial equity… but feeling stuck and not sure what to do next?

Do you often feel overwhelmed by the fear and anxiety that can go along with meaningful anti-racism work?

Are you tired of joining anti-racism discussions that don’t lead to real action?

Have you been engaging in valuable anti-racism work led by BIPOC facilitators and are looking for a space to take that inner work even deeper?

Have you been looking for a compassionate, brave space where you can ask questions and make mistakes without being judged, yet still be called in and held accountable to the challenging work of true allyship?

If you answered ‘yes’ or ‘maybe’ to any of these questions, we invite you to keep reading!

Three attendees of an allyship training with Dr. Jill Wener interact and engage with each other, discussing their experiences with racism and allyship.

The work to dismantle systemic racism is far from over, and it requires white people who don’t just have knowledge about systemic racism: in order to do this important work, white people must also have the tools to manage the anxiety and fear that can stop meaningful racial equity work in its tracks.

In order to best learn about systemic racism and have the most impact in your anti-racism journey, it’s essential to engage in equity work with BIPOC leaders and educators who have the lived experience of systemic racism. There may also be times where you want to take that inner work even deeper, which may go beyond the scope of the training curriculum, your relationship with the instructor or DEI consultant, or the bandwidth of the instructor to take on the emotional labor of this aspect of equity work with white people.

Join anti-racism facilitator and educator Dr. Jill Wener on a 3-month customized journey to recognize and root out racism and bias, and the fear and anxiety that go along with it, as it shows up inside yourself, your professional space and your community, so that you can take meaningful action in the fight for racial equity in the most effective (and least harmful) way possible.

  • You’ll gain an understanding of how to lean into and learn from the fear and anxiety that surrounds deep work on racism, bias, and privilege, so that you can join the anti-racism movement in an authentic, meaningful way that benefits those that are most affected by systemic oppression.

  • You’ll have a judgment-free space to ask tough questions and process challenging situations around race and bias

  • You’ll learn practical tools to support you along your anti-racism journey

  • You’ll learn about trauma, the ways it shows up in anti-racism work, and how to mitigate it

  • You’ll develop (and start implementing!) a Conscious Allyship Action Plan, to help you take your commitment to equity to the next level as you work in community with BIPOC and people with other marginalized identities

  • You’ll learn skills that will revolutionize how you show up in the fight for racial justice - in yourself, in your community, and in the world

  • If you’re engaging in this work within an organization, you’ll learn how to apply these skills in a leadership role

Your Conscious Allyship Coach:

Jill Wener, MD is a board-certified physician and a Co-Founder and Partner of Conscious Anti-Racism, LLC. In 2011, after suffering severe burnout, she learned a meditation technique that healed her burnout and also completely changed her life. She ultimately decided to become a meditation teacher and left her medical job to focus on her work as an expert in physician wellness.

In addition to training in meditation and mindfulness, Jill has also added Tapping, also known as the Emotional Freedom Technique, to the arsenal of powerful tools that help her clients manage stress, improve their physical and emotional health, and explore the ways that their mindset and self-limiting beliefs create their own reality.

Like most well-intending white liberals, Jill didn't think she was racist! She knew little about the systemic racism that affects the daily life of people of color in this country. Jill's interest in Anti-Racism began in earnest after the 2016 election. She attended an Anti-Racism retreat called Allies in Action, where she learned so much from the incredible women who led the retreat, Leslie Mac and Paige Ingram. At the retreat, she realized that she could use her expertise in mind-body techniques to really help people understand and confront their privilege and implicit bias. The Conscious Anti-Racism curriculum is the finished product from her final project at that retreat, and it grew into its current format when Jill partnered with Dr. Maiysha Clairborne. They co-created the Conscious Anti-Racism online course, co-wrote the Conscious Anti-Racism book, and they lead live/virtual anti-racism trainings nationwide. In addition to her work with Conscious Anti-Racism, Jill is a facilitator of the Equity Matters program through the ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education). Jill is the host of the Conscious Anti-Racism podcast and the founder of the Conscious Anti-Racism Facebook Group.

Jill is passionate about helping people take responsibility for their problems and teaching them practical, easy, rewarding tools to take self-improvement to the next level. As a white woman in the anti-racism space, she recognizes that her work is never done. She continues to examine and root out her own biases and privilege, and she looks forward to continuing the journey with you.

Jill is committed to de-centering whiteness and doing her part to mitigate the harms that may be caused to the source cultures when white people engage in equity work. In addition to continuing her own education and work to dismantle systemic racism, she donates 10% of her income from anti-racism work to social justice organizations and continues to do this work in partnership with People of Color. Learn more about her commitments here.
